This is only the 5th reported set of twins in Mountain Gorillas. As I was photographing this mother with her twins, the silverback chased her off so that he could eat from the nettles she had chosen. She vocalized loudly but moved on to a new spot. In this photo you can feel her tension as she glances sideways at the silverback. The twins appear blissfully unaware of the conflict.

Forster's Tern Sterna forsteri This Forster's Tern was repeatedly hovering for just a moment and then diving for fish. I photographed for over an hour, moving my tripod forward, backward and side to side until I finally got this head on shot. I was quite pleased with how close to symmetric the wing position was. Around 7:30 AM the rising sun caught the mist from Upper Yosemite Falls and produced this lovely rainbow. When I saw this isolated tree offset by the colors behind it I was drawn to photograph the changing colors behind it.
